I’ve been testing out the new Mizuno Neo Jump during several volleyball practices, and I think I already have a pretty good idea of who these shoes are made for.
The first thing I noticed was the cushioning. These are possibly the softest Mizuno volleyball shoes I have ever worn The landing feels very comfortable, even after a lot of jumping, and if you’re an outside hitter or the opposite one who attacks dozens of times per practice, your knees will definitely appreciate it.
What surprised me even more was the feeling during takeoff. I can’t honestly say that they make you jump higher, but they do seem to give some energy back every time you push off the floor. The ride feels lively and bouncy, almost as if the shoe helps you jump a little easier. Several other players reported the same, so it wasn’t just my first impression.
Traction is excellent on clean courts. I had no problems during my test. However, several players online have noted that grip drops more noticeably than some competing models on dusty courts, so I’ll continue to pay attention over time.
Because of the thick cushioning, you stand slightly higher off the ground. It’s great for jumping, but it means the shoe isn’t as laterally stable as something like the Mizuno Wave Momentum.
For outside hitters and opponents, I think it’s a trade-off worth making since jumping performance is your priority.
For middle blockers, I’m a little more on the fence. Middles obviously jump a lot, but they also have constant explosive movement to the side of the net. Personally, I think Neo Jump is still a good option, but it’s very much a matter of personal preference.
For setters and liberos, I would actually recommend Wave Momentum instead. It still offers great cushioning, but feels lower, more stable, and gives you more confidence during quick defensive movements and changes of direction.
A small downside for me is the lacing system. I like my heels to be completely locked in, and with these shoes I have to squeeze quite a bit to achieve that. Once I do, I start to feel some pressure on my leg. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s definitely something I’d like Mizuno to improve on in the next version.
As for the design, I absolutely love it. Especially this colorway. In my opinion, this is one of the best volleyball shoes Mizuno has released in years.
So who are these shoes for?
If you’re an outside hitter or looking for maximum cushioning and a springy, energetic feel on takeoff, I think the Mizuno Neo Jump is an excellent choice.
If you are a setter or libero, I would still lean towards the Wave Momentum because of the better lateral stability.
Overall, Mizuno has made a shoe that isn’t trying to please everyone. Instead, it is specifically designed for players whose game revolves around jumping. And in that role, I think they did a really good job.

By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
